Are police academies doing a good job training future cops?

So far, I think they are doing good. I do have a friend who just got out of the academy and he told me that the training was really very rigid. He learned a lot and he even shared me some of the things he learned and I have to say that I was impressed.

If local police cannot handle a situation, who do they call for help?

It depends how huge the situation is obviously. If it is a huge operation like drug trafficking, then maybe people could report it to the FBI or some agency higher than the local police. Either way, that would still have to go through the local police and they will be the ones making a decision.

    Personal opinion on marijuana?

It is not bad at all. I'm amazed that it cigarettes are still legal and alcohol, but this plant is still in the gray area. There is nothing wrong with it and noone has died yet taking it.

    Most Hated Stereotype?

It is indeed annoying to be stereotyped and labeled as lazy. That is always the image of cops and not are like that at all. Another stereotype is that they actually have no idea what exactly they are doing.

Have/would you call out an officer with a bad attitude?

I'm personally afraid of calling a cop out, especially if they are just having a bad day. I don't usually stand up, I just let it go and go on with my day. I just stay polite all the time.

How often is a cell phone mistaken for a gun?

I thinks that basically anything that is reached from a pocket could be mistaken for a gun these days. Cops should just do better with their judgement. And your best bet as a citizen is to tell the cop it is not a gun.

Do Mall Cops have the same power as regular cops?

I think they can definitely arrest people who would steal inside the mall. But they don't even have guns so I'm not sure what else they could do aside from that. I suppose they could always call for back up.

Are female cops treated with the same respect?

I hope so because that would be discrimination if they don't treat them the same respect. Although it is common that male cops are more treated with authority and they are more feared. They appear stronger than women so that's why.

What if my dog bite's a trespasser?

I think as long as the trespasser don't press charges against you when your dog bites him or her. As far as I know, even criminals can still press charges if they are aggravated too. But to be safe, the sign outside your house to beware of dogs is also helpful for your case.

Protests in NY over chokehold death

I don't think it would go down the way it went at Fergusson. That's not exactly how New Yorkers do it. But I'm quite sure there would be a little violence involved along the way. It is kind of starting already with a gunman killing a cop in revenge. But I hope it would stop there.

    Wife/husband breaking the law

If it's a minor crime like if it doesn't involve murder or robbing a bank or anything serious like that, I'd definitely talk to my wife about it and help her with everything that I can. There's no reason I'd just leave her like that nor throw her under the bus. There must be a good reason behind...

Have you ever been arrested? If yes, how long has it been?

Thank God I have not been arrested, not even once in my life. And I seriously want to keep it that way. It is hard when you have a record. I don't really want to get in so much trouble to the point that it would involve me and the law. That is going to be really stressful for me.

Does a person need to have evidence of harassment to file a restraining order?

Yes, you will need a form of evidence for the complain. Otherwise, that could be deemed irrelevant. You can show text messages or any form that you are being followed and that you fear for you life being near that person.

    Feeling vulnerable

I think it's normal to feel that way at times. But in the US, cops are treated with respect and even feared especially now. But of course, that is not exactly the case when you are out of your comfort zone.
